Since the development of Hidden Gemz of North Carolina, They have been instrumental in driving the organization's mission forward, fostering partnerships, and implementing programs that bring about tangible change in the community.
For the Winsteads, it’s more than a professional endeavor—it's a personal mission. In the year 2000, Andy and Tangy were overjoyed with the birth of their twins, Caleb and Zachary, along with neurotypical older siblings. From the very beginning, it was clear that these boys would bring immense joy to their lives, but also unique challenges.
Caleb and Zachary were both diagnosed with physical and cognitive challenges at an early age. These diagnoses marked the beginning of a journey that would involve countless visits to specialists and numerous hospital stays. The twins faced hurdles that required a comprehensive medical care plan, which included therapies, medications, and a dedicated support system.
Despite these challenges, Caleb and Zachary displayed incredible resilience. Tangy and her husband became their unwavering advocates, tirelessly navigating the complex healthcare system to ensure their sons received the best possible care. They coordinated with a team of specialists to create an all-encompassing approach to the twins' treatment.
Throughout their lives, Caleb and Zachary continued to develop in their unique ways, each milestone a testament to their strength and their parents' unwavering support.
